2023 Professional of the Year Winners

Assistant Manager of the Year - Daiquiri Lucio, AMLI Residential 

With six years of experience in the property management industry, Daiquiri's journey began in 2017. Daiquiri takes pride in her ability to provide exceptional customer service and build strong relationships with her residents. Daiquiri aspires to eventually become a Community Manager and apply what she has learned into building her own powerhouse team. Her commitment to her work and genuine dedication to her residents make her a valued asset in the field of property management.

Award Qualifications: An assistant property manager with at least one year of experience within the multifamily housing industry.


Leasing Professional of the Year - Nadia Barlow, Kairoi Residential

Nadia is an experienced Leasing Professional with eight years of expertise in multifamily, specializing in lease ups. Since joining Kairoi Residential in 2019, Nadia has become an integral team member, overseeing seven of their communities and recently being selected for a distinguished role at Residences at 6G. Passionate about helping clients find a home they love, she attributes her success to Kairoi's vision and the collaborative support within the team. A graduate of The University of Texas at San Antonio with a degree in Communication & Media Studies, Nadia also holds a Texas Public Notary commission certificate and serves as an ordained wedding officiant. 

Award Qualifications: A leasing professional with at least one year of experience within the multifamily housing industry


Maintenance Manager/Supervisor of the Year - Joseph Melton, ZRS Management 

Joseph is a dedicated professional who transitioned into the multifamily industry following a successful career in I.T. Seeking more fulfillment, he seamlessly adapted to the fast-paced and high-demand field of property maintenance. Joe takes joy in interacting with people from diverse cultures, guiding his team through hands-on training, and offering assistance whenever needed. 

Award Qualifications: A maintenance supervisor or manager with at least six months of experience in a supervisory role within the multifamily housing industry.


Maintenance Technician of the Year - Chrissie Russell, RPM Living 

With over three years of maintenance experience, Chrissie transitioned from a housekeeping role, quickly earning her EPA certification after joining RPM Living a year ago. Chrissie loves the dynamic nature of her job, cherishing the opportunity to learn and meet new people every day. Excited about ongoing growth, she looks forward to more opportunities in her role as a Maintenance Technician.

Award Qualifications: A maintenance professional with at least six months of experience within the multifamily housing industry.


Property Manager of the Year - Wade Nauman, Greystar 

Wade is a dedicated professional with over seven years of experience in property management, spending his last three years with Greystar. Recognized as the Equality Award Winner and Innovation Award Winner in 2023, Wade also chairs DEI for the IREM Austin Chapter. Beyond his professional achievements, Wade finds joy in his family life with husband Michael, children Abigail and Joey, and a delightful assortment of pets. As he looks ahead, Wade is enthusiastic about advancing his career with Greystar, aspiring to become a Regional Manager and inspire others in the property management field. With a strong work ethic and genuine commitment, Wade Nauman is making a lasting impact on the industry.

Award Qualifications: A property manager with at least one year of experience as a property manager.


Regional Portfolio Supervisor of the Year - Kelsea Vernon, RPM Living 

Kelsea is a Regional Manager with RPM Living and has served in the multifamily industry for 18 years.  She currently serves on the AAA Board of Directors and is a delegate for TAA.  She has obtained her CAM, and CAPS and is currently pursuing her CPM Designation.  She is a graduate of Texas State University with a bachelor's degree in Mass Communication.

Award Qualifications: A property supervisor or regional manager who oversees at least three properties, supervises 100 units or more, and has at least two years of experience within their current role.


Supplier of the Year - Kris Burleson, InterSolutions Staffing

Kris has been instrumental in driving national expansion and recruiting local Sales Representatives for his team at InterSolutions Staffing since 2020. With a multifaceted career in the Multifamily Housing Industry since 2002, Kris has transitioned from roles as a Leasing Professional to Account Executive and Managing Director for New Market Development. Actively contributing to the growth of the Austin Apartment Association since 2006, Kris's passion extends to his involvement with the Texas Apartment Association and National Apartment Association. 

Award Qualifications: A supplier/vendor, servicing the multifamily housing industry, with at least one year of experience in their current role.


Trailblazer of the Year - Allie Tripp, Apartment Management Professionals (AMP) 

Transitioning from teaching to leasing, Allie has embraced the whirlwind journey, finding joy in helping Austin residents discover their ideal homes. Her commitment to continuous learning and passion for creating connections has not only earned her the accolade but also established a new standard in the industry. We look forward to Allie's ongoing success and the positive impact she continues to make.

Award Qualifications: Any AAA member with at least one year of experience within the multifamily housing industry, but less than five years of experience. Must show excellence and progression in the field of this current year.
