Professional of the Year Awards
Applications for Professional of the Year Awards are now open through September 29th. Good luck to all the applicants!
Each year the Austin Apartment Association recognizes outstanding individuals who achieved excellence and who are a leader in their field. The ten awards are Property Manager of the Year, Assistant Manager of the Year, Trailblazer of the Year, Leasing Professional of the Year, Maintenance Supervisor of the Year, Maintenance Technician of the Year, Regional Maintenance/Service Manager of the Year, Regional/Portfolio Supervisor of the Year, Independent Rental Owner of the Year, and Supplier of the Year.
The Property of the Year winners will be announced at the 2023 APEX Awards, on December 8, 2023, at the Hyatt Regency Hotel.

Nomination Guidelines
- Any AAA member (owner/management/onsite personnel/products & services/suppliers) can nominate. Self-nominations are also accepted.
- Leasing Category only-$75 fee for the blind shop must be paid by due date. (AAA will send an invoice to your property)
- Each category has a qualification that must be accurate a the time of the nomination.
Nominations are closed for the 2023 year. Will re-open August 2024.
Award Category Qualifications
- An assistant property manager with at least one year of experience within the multifamily housing industry.
- Company/Property (IRO) should not be a third-party management company.
- A leasing professional with at least one year of experience within the multifamily housing industry
- A maintenance supervisor or manager with at least six months of experience in a supervisory role within the multifamily housing industry.
- A maintenance professional with at least six months of experience within the multifamily housing industry.
- A property manager with at least one year of experience as a property manager.
- A Maintenance/Service manager who oversees maintenance at multiple properties totaling 100 units or more and has at least two years of experience within their current role.
- A property supervisor or regional manager who oversees at least three properties, supervises 100 units or more, and has at least two years of experience within their current role.
- A supplier/vendor, servicing the multifamily housing industry, with at least one year of experience in their current role.
- Any AAA member with at least one year of experience within the multifamily housing industry, but less than five years of experience.
- Must show excellence and progression in the field of this current year.
