Celebrating the First Graduating Class of GCTA’s Building Maintenance Program

Posted By: Tatiana Knight Article of the Week,

The future of facility upkeep and residential care just got brighter! We’re thrilled to celebrate the very first graduating class of the GCTA Building Maintenance program — a group of dedicated individuals now ready to take on rewarding careers as building maintenance technicians.

This groundbreaking program was designed to do more than teach technical skills; it empowers students to be stewards of environmental responsibility, champions of safety, and professionals in communication and compliance. From HVAC diagnostics to plumbing and electrical troubleshooting, these graduates are equipped with the tools to keep multi-family housing units running smoothly and safely.

What’s next? Graduates are eligible for up to 480 paid work experience hours during their training and will receive provisional certification upon passing the CAMT exam — which can be upgraded to full credentials after one year on the job. Career opportunities include positions at apartment complexes and other residential facilities.

To the GCTA Class of 2025 — congratulations! Your hard work and commitment have paved the way for a future filled with purpose, professionalism, and progress.
