AAA Announces Launch of Apartner in Safety Alliance at City Hall

Posted By: Hannah Garcia Article of the Week,

On February 5th, the Austin Apartment Association, alongside Austin first responder associations and Council Members Laine, Ellis, Duchen, and Fuentes, held a press conference at Austin City Hall to announce the launch of Apartner in Safety Alliance.

Apartner in Safety Alliance is designed to make it easier for first responders to live in Austin by connecting them with housing incentives offered by Austin Apartment Association members, while also strengthening relationships between first responders and the communities they serve.

AAA President and Board Chair Kimberly Faulkner provided an overview of the program, highlighting key components including the property directory, optional safety walkthroughs of participating properties, and optional community engagement events.

Council Member Krista Laine emphasized that affordability continues to be one of Austin’s most pressing challenges, particularly for first responders who often struggle to live in the city they serve. Through Apartner in Safety Alliance, AAA aims to be part of the solution by helping ensure first responders have the opportunity to live and work in the communities they protect.

AAA extends its sincere thanks to Michael Bullock, President of the Austin Police Association; James Monks, President of the Austin Travis County EMS Association; Adam Finkenbinder, Secretary and Treasurer of the Austin Firefighters Association; David Girouard, President of the Austin Firefighters Association; and Council Member Krista Laine and her staff for their leadership and support in launching Apartner in Safety Alliance.

The Apartner in Safety Alliance Property directory went live on February 5th, but it’s not too late to get involved! You can join today.
