Association Awards
Nominations Open September 1-30th
The Austin Apartment Association’s new Association Awards recognize members who make a lasting impact through education, industry leadership, and community service. Honorees will be recognized in three categories: Educator of the Year, Lifetime Achievement, and Doc Young Volunteer of the Year.
Winners will be announced at the 2027 ELEVATE event.
*Please note: The nomination form is separate from the award application. After nominations close, eligible nominees will receive an email inviting them to complete the Lifetime Achievement Award application.
Nomination Guidelines

Candidates must meet the qualifications listed for their award category.

Selected nominees will be invited to complete an application.

Finalists may be asked to participate in a self-interview and submit additional supporting materials.
Lifetime Achievement Award
Honors a longtime multifamily professional whose leadership, service, and dedication have made a lasting impact on the industry and AAA.
Nominees must be an AAA member—either an onsite professional or Products & Services member—with at least 20 years of experience in the multifamily housing industry and a minimum of 10 years of involvement with AAA.
Finalists will provide three letters of recommendation, a personal statement about what their industry involvement means to them, and photos highlighting their involvement with AAA and the multifamily industry.
Educator of the Year Award
Recognizes an active local AAA instructor who creates valuable learning experiences and supports the professional growth of AAA members.
Applicants must be active instructors with AAA. Only the individual’s personal accomplishments will be evaluated. This award is exclusively for local instructors; out-of-area speakers are not eligible.
Finalists will complete a self-interview and must consent to sharing instructional materials and participant evaluations from their classes or seminars.
Doc Young Volunteer of the Year Award- 2026 there will no open nominations, Education Committee to have a list of nominees.
Celebrates an AAA member who demonstrates an outstanding commitment to serving the community through volunteer work.
Nominees must have at least one year of experience in the multifamily housing industry and must have volunteered with their current nonprofit organization for at least one year.
