Cedar Park Blaze: Uniting in Recovery and Relief After Recent Wildfire

Cedar Park Fire, August 2023

On Tuesday, August 8th, the City of Cedar Park experienced a wildfire in the brush behind 12820 W Parmer Ln, near Bexley at Silverado Apartments. The fire destroyed one building with 20 occupied units, another building with 31 occupied units was damaged, and an estimated 50 acres of brush were lost. About 300 apartment units, 95 townhomes, and several nearby businesses were evacuated, said Fire Chief James Mallinger on Wednesday.

The American Red Cross was on the scene within 35 minutes, providing assistance to families and individuals in need. Hill Country Bible Church, located at 3351 Little Elm Trail in Cedar Park, has opened its doors as a temporary evacuation center in collaboration with the American Red Cross.

Although the tragic fire was 80% contained as of late Wednesday, August 9th, support and donations are much needed to assist residents.
