Austin Apartment Association Celebrates the 2019 Property of the Year Winners

The twelve winners of the 26th annual multi-family rental housing AAA Property of the Year awards are:

All properties considered for the 2019 Property of the Year awards were evaluated on three categories: staff and staff designations, physical/visual inspection, and a blind shop of the property. Judges for the staff and physical inspection categories were all members of the Austin Apartment Association. The blind shop was performed by an independent entity.

Lease-Up 2019 Property of the Year

Affordable and mid/high rise not included in this category. Any property that is less than 18 months old and less than 70% occupied at the time of nomination.

Any affordable housing property. Must have income and rent restrictions on greater than 50% of the total number of units; some examples include HTC, AHDP, Bond, HOME, Housing Trust Fund, and COA Smart Housing.

Renovation 2019 Property of the Year

All finalists in this category completed renovations within the last five calendar years, meeting both interior and amenity renovation criteria. Interior renovations included three of five: countertops, appliances, flooring, fixtures, or cabinets. Amenity renovations included three of seven: exterior paint, landscaping, clubhouse/office, pool, fitness center, pet amenity spaces, or other recreational amenity space.

  • The Davis SoCo

The Davis SoCo is located on iconic South Congress Avenue. Some of the best shopping, finest restaurants, and entertainment in the city is within walking distance of the community.


Emerald 2019 Property of the Year

Any garden-style property with four stories or fewer and surface parking and built between 2010 and 2017.
